Old maps show it to be a former Friends' Meeting House (dated here, as Quaker, to 1742-1982, with a predecessor of 1687). NY 0783 3174. © Steve Bulman. In 2026 Google Streetview is labelling it as "permanently closed". Old O.S. maps show a Mission Hall on Main Street at NY 0755 3132. It seems to survive, though is quite well hidden by other buildings - two Streetviews from 2025 - 1, 2. There used to be a Primitive Methodist Chapel off Alice Lane and Main Street, Little Broughton, at NY 0780 3181. It's unclear whether it survives or not, as Streetviews are hampered by vegetation - it, or its replacement is the building behind the telephone pole - 2009 Streetview. St. Lawrence was the medieval predecessor of Christ Church. It's site is recorded by O.S. maps to the S.W. of the village at NY 0607 3048, within a graveyard. It was "in use mid-17th century but disused by 1688" - source. Its site hasn't been seen by Streetview. Older maps show a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel on Moor Road, pre-dating one of 1911. NY 0737 3147. © Steve Bulman. An earlier map shows a Wesleyan Chapel on a different site across the road, at NY 0737 3150. The house on its site was seen by Streetview in 2025.
