Please be aware that CD's of photographs copied from this web-site are being sold on E-Bay. These copies have been made without the knowledge or permission of myself, or the many contributors to the site, and as such contravene the copyright laws.
In the short term, I  shall be contacting E-Bay, and considering what other action I can take.

But contributors and site visitors can also help by being aware of these events, and by advising me if you see any further offers for sale of CD's (or other material) using photos from these pages.

18 March 2008. After complaining to E-Bay, the offending CD sales item has been removed. His other sale items remain however.

19 March 2008. Contacted Carlisle Trading Standards, and waiting for them to ring back.

25 March 2008. The Trading Standards chap I need to speak to is on holiday until 31st March.

1 April. Contacted Trading Standards again.

Mid-April. TS have been back to me to advise that as copyright infringement isn't a criminal offence (merely civil) then it doesn't fall within their remit. If I was to go ahead with a prosecution, it could only be on the basis of those photos which I personally took. As the "guardian" of your photographs, so to speak, I have no legal standing, and as such, you each would have to pursue a prosecution on your own behalf. Given that the typical costs of "going to law" are very high, I regrettably can't see myself being able to do anything about it.
If any of you see this CD for sale again, could you let me know, as I'd like to get a copy of it. It's always useful having the evidence to hand in case circumstances change to enable me to re-consider a prosecution.
